Dilution & Safety

Lemon oil is a concentrated botanical material. For skin use, dilute to 0.5% to 2% in a carrier oil and patch test first. Keep away from eyes, children, and pets, and do not take internally. Store capped in a cool, dark place. Cold-pressed citrus oils can raise skin's sensitivity to sunlight, so avoid sun exposure on freshly applied areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is your lemon oil really 100% pure?
Yes. Every bottle of our lemon oil is bottled 100% pure and undiluted, with nothing added and nothing diluted out. You can review our published Certificate of Analysis before you buy to see exactly what is in the bottle.
Is lemon oil the same as lemongrass oil?
No. Lemon oil is cold-pressed from the peel of Citrus limon, the actual lemon fruit, while lemongrass oil is steam-distilled from a completely different grass plant that only shares the lemony scent. Our oil is true lemon, pressed from the fruit itself.
What does this lemon oil smell like, and what does it blend well with?
It smells zesty, sparkling, and sunny, exactly like scoring a fresh lemon peel with your thumbnail. It lifts nearly any blend and pairs especially well with peppermint, basil, lavender, rosemary, and other citrus oils.
How do I dilute lemon oil for skin use?
Mix lemon oil at 0.5% to 2% in a carrier oil, which works out to roughly 3 to 12 drops per ounce of carrier depending on the strength you want. Always patch test on a small area first, and avoid sun exposure on treated skin afterward.
What sizes do you offer, and can I buy wholesale?
We offer ten sizes in total, starting at 0.5 oz and scaling all the way up to 400 lbs, so home users, formulators, and wholesale buyers can all order from the same standard bottle.
Does buying a bigger size actually save money per ounce?
Yes. Per-ounce cost falls steadily as size increases, and our largest 400 lb size works out to less than half the per-ounce price of our smallest 0.5 oz bottle, making the bigger sizes the better value for regular or bulk use.
Do bulk orders come with lab documentation?
Yes. Every size we sell, from the smallest bottle to the largest drum, is covered by the same published Certificate of Analysis. If you need anything further for your paperwork, contact us before placing a bulk order and we will do our best to help.
Which size should I choose?
The 0.5 oz or 1 oz bottle is a good starting point if you are new to lemon oil, the 2 oz to 8 oz range suits regular diffusing and DIY use, and 16 oz and up fits soap makers, candle makers, and other high-volume routines.
How fast does my order ship, and how do I check out?
Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days. Bulk sizes of 5 lbs and up may need a little extra handling time before they leave our warehouse. Checkout runs through our Shopify store, so you get the same secure, familiar purchase process at every size.
Does lemon oil change color or thickness over time?
Fresh lemon oil is thin and pale yellow. Because it is a cold-pressed citrus oil, it oxidizes faster than steam-distilled oils, so color can deepen slightly with age and exposure to air or light. Keep the cap tight, store it cool and dark, and use it within a reasonable window for the brightest scent.
